Cambodia, Vietnam
& Thailand 2001
In summer 2001 on the way back from Korea to Germany I extended a
stop-over in Bangkok to travel 5 weeks through the South-East-Asian
region. Here on this site you can find the links to the photos I
uploaded. They are hosted at my album at Pixum
,
a German online picture services provider. If you follow the above link
you will get an overview of all my albums at this site. Alternatively

I startet my travel in the Kingdom of Cambodia by flying from Bangkok
to Phnom Penh. Here you could still easily feel the cruel past of the
nation. Followinf some days in the capital I went by boat to Angkor Wat
in the North. The incredibly gigantic palace ruins, partly deep in the
jungle, with their richness in sculpture details are really impressive.

Back in Phnom Penh I took a bus over the border to Vietnam. I escaped
the ATM-less Cambodia with just 1 Dollar in my pocket, thanx to the
border police, who took just marginal fees. After some days in Ho Chi
Min City (or Saigon) I made a 3-day-tour through the Mekong-Delta, where
I travelled with Ling and Joan (from Singapore and Holland). After that
I went up the coastal line a little bit and turned to the Highlands of
Dalat, where I made some hiking and canyoning trips with Hardy
Dalat ,
the best adventure sports guide in town. View the pictures:

Back in Saigon I took a plane back to Bangkok (Thailand) and enjoyed
my last 2 weeks travelling to Kanchanaburi, Ko Samui and Ayuthaya. These
photos are not uploaded yet.
